Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking a Private Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and support VMware-based private cloud environments for UK Defence. The role emphasizes automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices to ensure secure, resilient infrastructure. Hybrid working is available.

The successful candidate will work hands-on with Windows and Linux servers, automate provisioning and lifecycle management, and contribute to security-focused infrastructure delivery in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold DV cleared clearance.
• Experience with VMware-based infrastructure.
• Experience administering Windows and Linux servers.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and support VMware-based virtualised infrastructure with automation for provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines; support containerised workloads and hybrid cloud services with focus on availability and security.
• Collaborate with architects and delivery teams in Agile environments, embedding security best practices and maintaining technical documentation.
