Job summary

Cleantech Impact Partners Ltd is seeking a DV-cleared Cloud Engineer to join a high-security defence tech team in the UK. You will design, deploy and operate secure cloud platforms across AWS, Azure or GCP, with a strong emphasis on automation and infrastructure-as-code.

The role offers exposure to regulated environments, career development, and a structured path into senior technical or leadership roles. Location options include London, Manchester or the South West.

Qualifications

• DV clearance required to access secure environments.
• UK resident with at least 10 years' residency and sole UK national status.
• Hands-on cloud engineering experience across at least one major cloud provider.
• Experience deploying, automating and operating secure cloud platforms in regulated environments.

We are working with a leading global IT and business consulting firm, deeply embedded in UK Defence and National Security, to identify an experienced DV-cleared Cloud Engineer to join their defence team.

This is genuinely high-trust, high-impact work, building and operating secure cloud platforms that directly underpin the UK's most sensitive national security operations, alongside architects, security specialists and operations teams on programmes most engineers never get close to. Expect deep exposure to secure cloud architecture, automation and infrastructure-as-code, on systems where the consequences of getting it wrong are real. Our client has an established track record spanning decades of delivering technology to UK Defence and intelligence agencies, with a genuine investment in growing its people, strong mentoring, clear routes into senior technical or leadership roles, and support to go deep into the areas you're most drawn to.

Essential:Active DV (Developed Vetting) clearance UK resident for a minimum of 10 years Due to the secure nature of the role, candidates must be sole UK nationals Hands-on cloud engineering experience (AWS, Azure or GCP), deployment, automation, or platform operations Comfortable working within the most highly secure, regulated environments

Desirable:Defence, Intelligence, or wider public sector background Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM) Military transition candidates with hands-on technical cloud experience
