Job summary

Henderson Scott Limited in Oxford is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join its renowned Private Client team. The role involves high-quality work in wills, probate, trusts and tax planning for high-net-worth individuals, families, trustees and business owners, with hybrid working.

You will manage complex estates, LPAs, Court of Protection matters, and cross-generational wealth planning, offering excellent client care and advisory drafting.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years PQE in Private Client law.
• Strong experience across Wills, Probate, Trusts, Estate Administration, LPAs, and Tax Planning.
• STEP qualification or progress towards STEP would be beneficial, although not essential.
• Excellent drafting and advisory skills.
• Strong client care and relationship management abilities.
• Commercially minded with proactive business development.

Responsibilities

• Manage a broad private client caseload including wills, probate and trusts.
• Advise on LPAs, Court of Protection matters, and deputyship as required.
• Provide tax planning advice including IHT and CGT considerations.
• Support cross-generational wealth planning and wealth preservation strategies.
• Advise executors, trustees, and beneficiaries and develop client relationships.

You will manage a broad and varied private client caseload, including:

• Wills and succession planning.
• Probate and estate administration.

• Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning.

• High-value and complex estates.
• Trust and estate disputes support where required.
• Advice for elderly and vulnerable clients.

• Tax-efficient succession planning for business owners and high-net-worth individuals.

About You

• Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years PQE in Private Client law.
• Strong experience across Wills, Probate, Trusts, Estate Administration, LPAs, and Tax Planning.
• Comfortable managing complex matters with minimal supervision.
• Experience working with high-net-worth individuals would be advantageous.
• STEP qualification or progress towards STEP would be beneficial, although not essential.
• Excellent technical drafting and advisory skills.
• Strong client care and relationship management abilities.
• Commercially minded with a proactive approach to business development.
