A1 Personnel is recruiting a Private Client Solicitor in Wokingham to join a well-established, expanding legal practice.

With 1–2 years' PQE in Private Client, you will manage your own caseload covering Wills, Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney, including high-value estates.

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Private Client Solicitor to join a well-established and expanding legal practice.

Our client is seeking a motivated and commercially minded Solicitor with a minimum of 1–2 years' PQE in Private Client law to join a growing department.

The successful candidate will manage their own varied caseload, with a particular focus on complex and high-value estate administration, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

This opportunity would suit a confident fee earner looking to develop their expertise, take ownership of their caseload and progress their career within a supportive and established legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of Private Client matters, including:

• Manage probate and estate administration matters from initial instruction through to completion.
• Handle complex and high-value estates, including those involving property and multiple assets.
• Identify and establish estate assets and liabilities.
• Prepare inheritance tax documentation and applications for Grants of Representation.
• Oversee the collection, administration and distribution of estate assets.
• Advise on relevant trust arrangements arising during estate administration.
• Prepare estate administration accounts and calculate applicable tax liabilities.
• Provide clear and practical advice to executors and beneficiaries throughout the process.
• Take instructions from clients and provide tailored advice on Will preparation.
• Draft Wills, including more complex arrangements involving trusts where appropriate.
• Advise clients on estate planning and succession matters.
• Ensure Wills are correctly executed and comply with relevant legal requirements.

Lasting Powers of Attorney

• Advise clients on the preparation and implications of Lasting Powers of Attorney.
• Take instructions and draft the necessary documentation.
• Manage applications for registration with the Office of the Public Guardian.
• Provide guidance to clients and their families throughout the process.

Additional Responsibilities

• Independently manage and develop your own Private Client caseload.
• Respond to new enquiries and build strong relationships with clients.
• Maintain excellent standards of client care and communication.
• Achieve agreed billing targets and contribute to the financial performance of the department.
• Identify opportunities to develop client relationships and generate new instructions.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the continued growth of the Private Client team.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:

• Qualified Solicitor status with at least 1–2 years' PQE in Private Client law.
• Experience managing your own caseload covering Wills, Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
• Good technical knowledge of estate administration, inheritance tax and related Private Client matters.
• The ability to handle complex matters with appropriate levels of independence.
• A proven track record of achieving consistent billing performance.
• Excellent organisational, communication and client care skills.
• A proactive and commercially aware approach to managing client matters.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• A genuine ambition to develop professionally and progress within a growing legal department.
