Job summary

Sellick Partnership is working with a Legal 500 ranked firm seeking a Private Client Solicitor to join their Private Wealth team in the South Oxfordshire area. The role focuses on wills, trusts, probate, and cross-border estate planning for high-net-worth clients, with opportunities for business development.

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years PQE, proficiency with probate caseloads, and a keen interest in wealth structuring.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years PQE in Wills, Probate and Private Client matters.
• Proven ability to handle a full probate caseload with minimal supervision.
• Interest or practical experience in estate planning, trusts and taxation.
• STEP qualification (full or in progress) is highly desirable.
• Technically proficient with IT literacy and experience using case management or workflow platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full and varied caseload, with an initial emphasis on probate and estate administration.
• Advise clients on wills, trusts, and LPAs.
• Provide comprehensive estate and tax planning advice for High-Net-Worth individuals, business owners, and cross-border clients.
• Collaborate with a partner on complex tax planning and wealth structuring.
• Deliver tailored inheritance tax advice considering clients' personal and financial circumstances.
• Undertake trust work, including drafting, administration and ongoing management.
• Offer specialist advice to elderly clients and families with vulnerable dependants.
• Contribute to business development to grow the Private Wealth team.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships through in-person meetings and virtual consultations.

We are currently working with a Legal 500 ranked firm that is looking for a talented Private Client Solicitor to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and experienced Private Client law professional to join a well-regarded and friendly team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Manage a full and varied caseload, with an initial emphasis on probate and estate administration.

• Advise clients on all aspects of wills, trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs).

• Provide comprehensive estate and tax planning advice, particularly for High-Net-Worth individuals, business owners, and clients with cross-border interests.

• Work closely with a partner on complex tax planning and wealth structuring matters.

• Deliver tailored inheritance tax advice in line with clients' personal and financial circumstances.

• Undertake trust work, including the drafting, administration, and ongoing management of trusts.

• Offer specialist advice to elderly clients and families with vulnerable or disabled dependants.

• Actively participate in business development initiatives to support the growth of the Private Wealth team.

• Build and maintain long-term client relationships through in-person meetings, virtual consultations, and regular communications.

The successful candidate:

• 2-5 years PQE in Wills, Probate, and wider Private Client matters.

• Proven ability to handle a full probate caseload with minimal supervision.

• Demonstrated interest or practical experience in estate planning, trusts, and taxation.

• STEP qualification (full or in progress) is highly desirable.

• Technically proficient, with strong IT literacy and experience using case management or workflow platforms.

• Meticulous attention to detail, with a structured and organised approach to work.

• Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal, with a client-focused mindset.

• Commercially minded and forward-thinking, with a strong interest in contributing to business development and the team's growth.
