Private Client Legal Secretary - Wills, Probate & Court of Protection
Location: Swindon
Hours: Full-Time
TSR Legal are proud to be partnering with a reputable and progressive law firm in Swindon, currently seeking a Legal Secretary to join their dedicated Private Client team on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional and organised individual who is passionate about providing high-quality support within a client-focused legal environment. You will be assisting a busy team of Private Client solicitors, playing an integral role in supporting matters relating to Wills, Probate, Powers of Attorney, and Court of Protection.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Opening and maintaining client files, ensuring all documentation is accurately processed and compliant.
  2. Acting as a key point of contact for clients - showing empathy, discretion, and professionalism at all times.
  3. Providing full administrative support to fee earners, including proactive diary and task management.
  4. Drafting and formatting legal documents such as Wills, LPAs, and Probate applications.
  5. Preparing and processing correspondence, including audio and copy typing.
  6. Assisting with billing procedures, file closure, and general financial administration.
  7. Liaising with clients, family members, third parties, and the Court of Protection as needed.

About You:

  1. Previous experience working as a legal secretary within a Private Client department is essential.
  2. Familiarity with Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Court of Protection matters.
  3. A sensitive and client-focused approach, with the ability to work professionally in often emotional situations.
  4. Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with a strong eye for detail.
  5. Confident in using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and legal case management systems.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Able to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
