Job summary

The Ministry of Justice is seeking a Production Instructor for Enterprises to supervise prisoners in workshops, deliver training to achieve nationally recognised qualifications, and maintain security and quality.

You will lead health and safety, COSHH, log hours, manage output, and liaise with external organisations. Hybrid working arrangements apply; role based in the UK with potential site work.

Qualifications

• Supervision of prisoners in workshop environments.
• Training prisoners to achieve national qualifications.
• Ability to tailor learning to individual needs.
• Maintain security and discipline within workshops.
• Conduct health and safety training including COSHH.

Responsibilities

• Select prisoners for workshops and induct them.
• Train on health and safety, COSHH, machinery and tool use.
• Set work schedules and monitor targets/quality.
• Assess prisoner skills to national standards.
• Log attendance, hours worked and piece work where applicable.
• Maintain equipment, conduct tool checks and maintenance.
