Job summary

Manpower Group (UK) is seeking an Instructor (Band 3) to join the team at HMP Stocken. You will supervise prisoners in non-specialist workshop environments, ensuring safe, secure and high-quality delivery of activities to support rehabilitation and skills development.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the selection and induction of prisoners into workshop activities.
• Train prisoners in health and safety procedures, COSHH requirements, and the safe use of tools and equipment.
• Support individual learning and development needs within the workshop environment.
• Set work schedules, monitor productivity, and maintain quality standards.
• Supervise and manage prisoners safely, securely and decently during workshop activities.
• Conduct required prisoner searches and maintain security procedures.
• Maintain accurate attendance, pay, and work records.
• Contribute to prisoner reports, sentence planning, ACCT documentation, VRIRs, SIRs and IEP reviews where required.
• Assist with health and safety risk assessments and workshop reviews.
• Order materials and monitor stock usage to meet operational requirements.
• Attend relevant meetings and provide administrative support for workshop activities.
