Job summary

Practice Plus Group - Health in Justice is seeking a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker for HMP Doncaster. The role involves assessing patient needs, delivering psychosocial interventions, and working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team on a busy prison site.

The position offers a full-time contract with a salary up to £33,510 per annum, with bespoke induction, competency development, and regional/national career progression support.

Qualifications

• Evidence of CPD
• Experience working with Substance Misuse or within a prison
• Knowledge of structured psycho social interventions
• Experience in a multi-disciplinary framework including housing, social care, healthcare and mental health pathways
• Non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based care to a caseload of psycho-social patients.
• Deliver psycho-social interventions and information on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cessation, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices.
• Provide non-judgemental care on a 1:1 basis and via group work, supporting nursing and pharmacy teams.
• Follow the organisation's competency framework and safeguarding policies.
• Forge strong links within teams, partners and stakeholders to provide a trusted, safe service.
