Practice Plus Group at HMP Doncaster is seeking a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our Substance Misuse team. The role involves assessing patient needs and risks, delivering evidence-based psychosocial interventions, and working with nursing and pharmacy teams across healthcare centres and wings.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00, with a full-time salary up to £33,510 per year. We offer bespoke induction, competency framework, career development opportunities, and a supportive team

Formación

• Evidence of CPD.
• Previous experience with Substance Misuse or in a prison.
• Knowledge of structured psychosocial interventions.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary framework (housing, social care, healthcare, mental health).
• Non-judgemental and compassionate approach.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Provide care to a caseload of psychosocial patients with feedback-informed, personalised care.
• Deliver psychosocial interventions and information on substance misuse, alcohol and safe sex.
• Offer one-to-one and group-based care, supporting nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care areas.
• Follow the HiJ competency framework and safeguarding policies.
• Build strong links with teams, partners and stakeholders to provide trusted, safe services.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Doncaster.

HMP Doncaster is a very paced remand prison with a capacity for 1145 males.

Working as a prison Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, you will working with other members of the team that you are part of, assessing needs of patients and assessing risks accordingly.

Monday - Friday

0800 - 1600

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £33,510 per annum

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks

What you'll be doing

• Provide outstanding evidence based care to a case load of psycho social patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Provide a programme of psycho social interventions, along with information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices.
• Deliver non-judgemental care on a one to one basis and through group work, supporting the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care within healthcare centres and on wings and house blocks.
• You’ll make a real difference as defined throughout our bespoke HiJ competency framework following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.
• Inspire excellence by forging strong links within our teams, our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of.

Qualifications, skills and experience required

• Evidence of CPD
• Previous experience working with Substance Misuse or within a prison.
• Knowledge and experience in the provision of structured psycho social interventions
• Experience of working within the substance misuse multi-disciplinary frame work, that includes housing, social care, healthcare, and mental health pathways
• Anon-judgmental and compassionate approach
