Job summary

Practice Plus Group is recruiting a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker for HMP Garth. The role supports inmates in a high-security setting, delivering psychosocial interventions and group sessions as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The position is part-time (22.5 hours/week) with a salary up to £20,106 per year and comprehensive induction and development opportunities. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and will undergo vetting.

Qualifications

• Experience in substance misuse, preferably in a prison/secure setting.
• Experience as a Recovery Worker or Practitioner is desirable.
• Flexible approach and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of psychosocial patients with varying needs.
• Triaging new patients entering the prison, carrying out assessments.
• Deliver group sessions on overdose awareness and harm reduction.
• Provide psychosocial interventions and assessments, including SMART Recovery.
• Facilitate peer-led group sessions.
• Offer information on substance misuse, alcohol, and safe sex practices.
• Collaborate with MDT professionals inside the prison and in the community.
