Job summary

Aspire Recruitment is seeking a Prisoner Trainer/Mentor based at HMP Humber with travel to HMP Hull. The role delivers a structured six-week CFO Evolution Programme, providing group and 1:1 support to help rehabilitation and reduce reoffending.

You will work with prison staff and peers, manage a caseload, and maintain records. DBS checks are required; this fixed-term contract ends 24 December 2026, with a full-time 37-hour week.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering structured sessions in group settings.
• Strong communication and ability to build trust with participants.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles (training provided).
• Confident using IT systems to manage participant data.
• Experience supporting offenders or marginalised groups within justice, training, or counselling settings.
• Able to work towards targets and performance expectations.
• Awareness of barriers faced by individuals in custody and rehabilitation challenges.
• Familiarity with prison environments and safeguarding considerations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging group sessions on topics such as goal setting, social interaction, coping with change and healthy relationships.
• Complete initial assessments, enrol participants, and create tailored action plans.
• Provide one-to-one guidance to review goals and offer ongoing support.
• Build positive, non-judgemental relationships to foster a safe and supportive environment.
• Manage a caseload, balancing group delivery with individual support and administration.
• Keep accurate records using internal IT systems.
• Monitor progress and set clear objectives to support rehabilitation.
• Follow Health & Safety policies and safeguarding procedures.
