Job summary

Ministry of Justice is seeking an Operational Support Grade to help run a busy prison. You will work in a close-knit team across duties from patrol and gate to CCTV monitoring, with shifts and nights to keep operations smooth.

Qualifications

• Willing to work nights, evenings and weekends as part of rolling shift patterns.
• Able to follow procedures and respond to emergencies in a prison environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills essential for close-knit teams.

Responsibilities

• gate/portal duties: ensure secure entry/exit of staff, visitors and vehicles
• control room: operate radio system and monitor CCTV for suspicious activity
• visits: book and process visitors on arrival and escort as required
• reception: photograph prisoners and assist with property process and storage
• night duties: ensure cells are locked and prisoners are accounted for
• prisoner supervision: supervise prisoners and assist with movement
• food delivery: manage trolley delivery and use of equipment
• driving duties: transport prisoners and collect mail
• phone calls: log PIN requests and maintain audit trails
• procedures: follow national/local policies and emergency procedures
