Job summary

His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service is seeking an Operational Support Grade for HMP Isle of Wight. The role supports the day-to-day running of a busy prison, combining desk tasks with physical duties such as lifting and escorting vehicles across the grounds.

Driving duties are essential, so a full UK driving licence is required. The job offers a varied career with opportunities for progression within the Prison Service and a strong emphasis on teamwork and safety.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day running of a busy prison with a mix of desk and physical tasks.
• Assist with security at the gate, manage deliveries, supervise visitors, and monitor phone calls and CCTV.
• Carry out lifting, carrying and escorting vehicles around prison grounds.
• Driving duties are an essential part of the OSG role; you must hold a full, valid UK driving licence.
