Job summary

His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service is seeking an Operational Support Grade for HMP Isle of Wight. You will support the day-to-day running of a busy prison, from security and gate searches to managing deliveries, supervising visitors, and monitoring CCTV.

The role combines desk work with physical tasks and requires driving duties around the prison grounds. You don’t need formal qualifications, but being a good communicator and able to stay calm under pressure is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day running of a busy prison, including security and searches at the gate.
• Manage deliveries, supervise visitors and monitor phone calls and CCTV.
• Carry out desk tasks alongside physical duties such as lifting, carrying and walking to escort vehicles around the grounds.
• Perform driving duties as part of the OSG role; hold a full, valid UK Driving Licence.
