Job summary

His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service on Isle of Wight is recruiting for an Operational Support Grade. This role supports daily prison operations, handling gate security, deliveries, visitor supervision and CCTV monitoring. It blends desk tasks with physical duties such as lifting and escorting vehicles around the grounds.

A full UK driving licence is essential. You will work varied shifts, including weekends and nights, in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications required.
• Must have a full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day prison operations including security and searches at the gate.
• Manage deliveries and supervise visitors.
• Monitor phone calls and CCTV.
• Perform lifting, carrying and walking to escort vehicles across prison grounds.
• Driving duties are an essential part of the OSG role.
