His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service is recruiting for a Prison Support Role at HMP Isle of Wight. The role involves supporting the daily operations of a busy prison, including security tasks, supervising visitors, deliveries and monitoring communications.

It combines desk work with active duties such as lifting and escorting vehicles across the grounds. Driving duties are essential, so applicants must hold a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• You don’t need any qualifications to do this job, but being a good communicator and able to stay calm under pressure helps.
• You’ll need to be flexible and work as part of a team in a busy prison environment.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day running of a busy prison.
• Engage in security and searches at the gate and manage deliveries.
• Supervise visitors and monitor phone calls and CCTV.
• Assist with lifting, carrying and moving tasks and escorting vehicles.
