Job summary

The Ministry of Justice in Milton Keynes is seeking an Operational Support Grade (Driver) at HMP Woodhill to support daily prison operations. You will perform gate duties, supervise visitors, manage deliveries and assist with CCTV monitoring within a close-knit team.

Shifts include nights and weekends, with an annual leave entitlement and access to Civil Service pension and other benefits. You must have a valid UK driving licence and be able to pass security vetting.

Qualifications

• Full, valid UK driving licence required.
• Willing to work shifts including nights and weekends.
• Must pass security vetting (CTC Level 2) and provide UK residency details.

Responsibilities

• Gate and portal duties ensuring secure entry and exit.
• Operate control room radio system and monitor CCTV.
• Book visits and escort visitors as required.
• Monitor mail and report illicit items.
• Oversee night duties and prisoner counts.
• Support reception tasks and document handling.
• Transport prisoners in the cellular vehicle as required.
