Job summary

His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service on the Isle of Wight is seeking an Operational Support Grade to help run a busy prison. You will assist with gate security, deliveries, visitor supervision, and monitoring CCTV and phone calls.

The role blends desk work with active physical tasks such as escorting vehicles around the grounds. You don’t need formal qualifications, but you must be a good communicator, calm under pressure, and a team player with sound judgement.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications required.
• Must be a good communicator and stay calm under pressure.
• Good judgement and common sense are essential.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Security checks at the gate and handling deliveries.
• Supervising visitors and monitoring phone calls and CCTV.
• Desks tasks plus physical duties such as lifting and escorting vehicles.
• Shift work including weekends and night shifts to keep operations running.
