Job summary

The Ministry of Justice is seeking a Prison Offender Manager to lead the management and assessment of low to medium risk prisoners, prepare sentence plans and support progression while building professional relationships with prisoners to reduce re-offending.

This role supports probation officers in casemanagement for higher risk prisoners, with duties including ACCT processes, MAPPA collaboration, sentence planning meetings, risk assessments and liaison with external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage prisoners decently, safely and securely while carrying out all activities.
• Lead sentence planning meetings and coordinate the sentence plan through liaison with prisoners and departments.
• Use the Offender Assessment System (OASys) to identify risks and manage offenders appropriately.
• Contribute to MAPPA Boards and work with external agencies to protect the public when releasing prisoners.
• Undertake the role of resettlement advisor and complete required paperwork within set timescales.
