Job summary

The Ministry of Justice is seeking a Prison Offender Manager to lead the assessment and management of low to medium risk prisoners and to prepare, implement and review sentence plans with them. The role focuses on building effective, supportive relationships with prisoners and reducing re-offending outcomes.

You will work alongside probation officers in case management for higher-risk prisoners, with involvement in MAPPA and liaison with partner agencies to protect the public and support victims.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage prisoners decently, safely and securely while carrying out activities.
• Understand, apply and conform to national and local policies.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with prisoners and staff.
• Prepare relevant documentation for managers and quality checks.
• Attend and contribute to required meetings and reviews.
• Lead sentence planning meetings and coordinate actions within the sentence plan.
• Use OASys to identify risks and manage offenders appropriately.
• Collaborate with external agencies to prevent reoffending and protect victims.
