Job summary

Change Grow Live in Liverpool is seeking a Prison Group Facilitator to design and deliver evidence-based PSI group work for people in HMP Liverpool, guiding them from contemplation to recovery within the prison regime.

You will collaborate with service leads and partners to support recovery planning, addressing substance misuse and facilitating engagement with groups under secure conditions.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and prison/criminal justice experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with good IT skills.
• Experience delivering process-oriented group work.
• Knowledge of psychosocial interventions including MI, CBT, Node link Mapping (ITEP/BTEI).
• Knowledge of mental health interventions and good practice.

Responsibilities

• Support people who use the service to identify the most appropriate group work session to meet their needs from a range of options.
• Assess suitability for groups in terms of risk and special needs.
• Deliver a range of PSI group work to people who use the service.
• Provide support to people who use the service accessing the groups.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with partners.
• Work closely with local and regional mutual aid groups and create opportunities to deliver within the prison.
• Support and guide the team to consider group-work as part of Recovery Planning.
• Prepare individual recovery plans and motivate people to engage with their treatment journey.
• Ensure effective provision of recovery focused interventions to people who use the service.
• Understand evidence-based interventions in a group work setting.
