Job summary

Novus, LTE Group's prison education provider at HMYOI Wetherby, is seeking a Support and Progression Coach to help learners identify goals, overcome barriers and make progress toward education, employment, training or personal development.

This permanent, full-time role (37 hours per week) involves one-to-one coaching, collaboration with teaching teams, initial assessments, action plans and safeguarding duties, with generous leave and wellbeing provisions.

Qualifications

• Hold a level 4 Careers Information, Advice and Guidance qualification or be willing to work towards within 12 months.
• Hold level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy.
• Experience of initial assessments and supporting learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one coaching, guidance, and progression support to learners, helping them set achievable goals and review progress.
• Work with teaching teams and prison colleagues to identify learner needs, remove barriers to engagement, and support positive behaviour and attendance.
• Complete initial assessments, action plans, and progress reviews to ensure learners receive appropriate support throughout their learning journey.
• Promote opportunities for further learning, employability, and resettlement, supporting learners to make informed choices about their next steps.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding, equality, and quality processes, in line with Novus and prison education requirements.
