Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust seeks an experienced Pharmacist to provide medicines optimisation services at HMP Elmley. The role requires safeguarding National Security Vetting for prison settings and proof of right to work in the UK.

You will lead medicine reviews, support GP and dispensary teams, and drive improvements in prescribing, formulary management, and staff education within the Health and Wellbeing model.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree of Pharmacy required.
• GPhC registration as a pharmacist is essential.
• Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice/Clinical Pharmacy/Mmental Health or equivalent (or working towards).

Responsibilities

• Provide medicines optimisation reviews and support GPs and dispensary teams.
• Lead scheduled medicine review clinics for offenders.
• Identify and mitigate risks from high-risk medicines.
• Develop and manage new services aligned with NICE guidance and formulary.
• Educate the primary care team on therapeutics and medicines optimisation.
• Support vaccination and public health initiatives within the prison healthcare setting.
