Job summary

Novus Cambria is seeking a Work Coach at HMP Berwyn to guide prisoners through learning, work, and progression pathways. You will deliver one-to-one guidance and small group sessions within education and on the wings, helping learners identify realistic progression goals that reduce reoffending.

The role is permanent, full-time (37 hours per week) with safeguarding in place; a DBS check is required and Welsh language is desirable to support a bilingual setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to take a systematic and coordinated approach to work.
• Proven ability to build positive working relationships with learners and external partners.
• Inclusive, learner-focused approach with commitment to equality and wellbeing.
• IT competent, with confidence using digital systems and updating learner records.
• Working knowledge of information, advice and guidance processes.
• Knowledge of effective communication methods.
• Knowledge of barriers to employment, education and training and types of support.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on learning, work, training and progression, offering practical guidance on education pathways.
• Cover personal development, academic progression and wellbeing to enable progression into employment or further training.
