Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Principal Test Development Engineer to join our Glenrothes/Livingston team. You design, manufacture, verify and validate test hardware for board level to system level, supporting GPS and actuation systems; mentor junior engineers and drive design reviews.

You’ll work with hardware and software engineers, develop test software and procedures, and manage obsolescence across lifecycle. A Welcome Bonus £10k and relocation support are offered; BPSS clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Test software design experience.
• Excellent knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuit design.
• Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation.
• Proven experience in handover and management of designs in production.
• Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills.
• Able to support/debug system integration.
• Eligible for BPSS clearance, ideally SC level.

Responsibilities

• Design functional test equipment for circuit cards, sub-assemblies and systems.
• Ensure quality of test equipment and participate in design reviews.
• Lead junior engineers and assist with resource planning.
• Document design specs and implementation details.
• Develop test hardware and software to verify operation.
• Support hardware obsolescence and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with customers and suppliers for system designs.
