Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Test Engineering Lead to design, verify and support board level to system level test equipment. You will lead the development, document designs and collaborate with hardware and software engineers to ensure robust, production-ready solutions.

The role requires a degree in Electronic Engineering and hands-on test hardware experience, with strong documentation and communication skills to support manufacturing and project gates.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electronic Engineering (2:1 or higher).
• Test software design experience.
• Excellent knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuit design.
• Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation.
• Proven experience in handover and management of designs in production.
• Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills.
• Able to support/debug system integration.
• Good communicator.

Responsibilities

• Design functional test equipment and lead its development.
• Provide leadership for junior engineers and oversee design reviews.
• Document design specifications and implementation details; ensure compliance with standards.
• Develop robust test hardware and software; validate hardware operation.
• Support manufacturing with product queries and resolve technical issues.
• Manage obsolescence and lifecycle of test equipment across projects.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to finalize system designs.
• Support project planning and risk assessment using MS Project.
