Job summary

Carrington West seeks a Principal Temporary Works Engineer to join a growing team delivering temporary works design and related services across major infrastructure and construction projects. Flexible working in a UK-wide set of locations is offered, with a healthy mix of office presence and up to 1-2 days from home per week.

You should be a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent with a strong grounding in civil, structural and geotechnical principles, plus proven experience leading complex

Principal Temporary Works Engineer

My client is looking for civil, structural and/orgeotechnical engineers to join their team in various locations around the UK.

Locations: Birmingham / Bristol / Cambridge / Cardiff / Glasgow / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Manchester / Newcastle / Norwich / Plymouth - agile working, with up to 1-2 days per week from home if desired

Hours: 40 hours per week - flexibility on hours available if desired

Sector: Working across all sectors of the built environment

• Practically-minded, with a strong grounding in civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering principles and knowledge of applicable design standards?

What will you be responsible for?

Leading the delivery of a broad range of complex construction engineering services, including some or all of: temporary works design and checking, reviewing permanent designs for compliance and buildability, supporting tenders and preconstruction planning, and providing technical support to overcome construction-stage and post-construction issues and defects.

Main responsibilities

• Acting as Project Lead for multiple complex projects, managing technical scope, programme, budget and relationships with preconstruction and construction teams, from bid through to delivery
• Producing, checking and reviewing design outputs such as calculations, sketches, drawings, 3D models, reports and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with CDM, SHE procedures and QA processes
