Job summary

Calibre Search is recruiting a Principal Structural Engineer to join a Wakefield-based civil & structural consultancy. You will lead complex projects, review designs, set technical direction and mentor engineers and technicians while maintaining client relationships.

The role offers flexible/hybrid working, progression towards Associate level, and scope to influence business strategy within a diverse project mix across commercial, industrial, education and public-sector developments.

Qualifications

Senior/Principal level experience with ownership of projects.
Chartered status desired; ability to lead teams.
Excellent communication with clients and design teams.

Responsibilities

Leading structural engineering projects from concept through detailed design and construction
Technical lead with checking and approval responsibilities
Designing across steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry
Coordinating structural and civil design with wider teams
Managing programmes, resources, budgets and risk
Building and maintaining client relationships
Supporting fee proposals and commercial discussions
Mentoring Engineers, Technicians and Graduates
Progressing towards professional qualification
