Job summary

Calibre Search is recruiting a Senior Structural Engineer in Cardiff, offering a hybrid working pattern and a diverse portfolio of projects across rail, aviation, energy and data centres.

You will deliver structural design across steel, concrete and timber, mentor junior engineers and collaborate with clients, architects and other disciplines to drive sustainable, efficient solutions.

Qualifications

• Chartered status with IStructE, ICE or international equivalent.
• Professional experience as a Structural Engineer in a consultancy or similar environment.
• Strong experience in structural design using steel, concrete and/or timber.
• Solid understanding of building construction and structural engineering principles.
• Experience on technically challenging projects.
• Strong communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Collaborative approach and multidisciplinary working.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of structural engineering design on projects suited to your experience.
• Develop structural concepts and practical designs across materials and buildings.
• Apply sound engineering judgement to solve complex problems.
• Design structures using steel, concrete and/or timber.
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and design teams.
• Own your work and contribute to project delivery.
• Support and mentor less experienced engineers and technicians.
• Contribute to sustainable and innovative structural solutions.
• Consider embodied carbon and efficient use of assets.
• Collaborate across the UK and with international teams.
