Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking an Associate Structural Engineer to lead and grow the Leeds office. You will manage a portfolio, deliver complex structural schemes across education, healthcare, residential and more, and mentor the team while building strong client relationships.

You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy, take on commercial responsibilities, and help shape the Leeds operation as it expands into a full structural group.

Qualifications

• Chartered Structural Engineer, MIStructE preferred; MICE considered.
• 8+ years consultancy experience delivering complex building structures.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring engineers/technicians.
• Strong knowledge of BS and Eurocodes; experience across steel, concrete, timber and masonry.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical project delivery and mentor engineers.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams and client relationships.
• Conduct design reviews, checks and ensure CDM/health & safety compliance.
• Develop and review structural design solutions and drawings.
• Build Leeds team; recruiting, resource planning and client strategy.
• Travel to other offices approximately fortnightly; travel expenses covered.
• Represent the consultancy at design team meetings and liaise with contractors.
