Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is assisting a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy to recruit a Principal Structural Engineer for roles based in Higham Ferrers or Peterborough. You will lead major structural projects from concept through to completion, engaging clients and coordinating with design teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Civil/Structural Engineering, is a Chartered Engineer, and has 10–15 years of post-graduate experience across industrial, residential and infrastructure

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Structural Engineers.
• 10–15 years' post-graduate experience on industrial, residential or infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and large projects.
• Strong design capability across concrete, steel, masonry and timber.

Responsibilities

• Act as main client contact to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Lead detailed structural analysis and design per codes and standards.
• Oversee workload, budgets and margins for project delivery.
• Mentor engineers and staff to maintain high performance.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and provide expert advice.
• Review designs and reports for compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and stakeholders.
