Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead structural design projects with major international clients across automotive, commercial, industrial, retail, education and residential sectors in Higham Ferrers or Peterborough.

You will manage client relationships, oversee technical delivery, mentor engineers and drive project profitability while ensuring compliance with industry standards and objectives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil/Structural Eng.
• Chartered Engineer status with IStructE.

Responsibilities

• Act as main client contact for structural projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Undertake detailed structural analysis and design per codes and standards.
• Oversee workload, budgets and margins for efficient project delivery.
• Mentor engineers and staff, promoting collaboration and high performance.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships with expert advice.
• Review designs, specifications and reports for compliance.
• Stay updated with industry developments and best practices.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and stakeholders for delivery.
• Oversee site visits, inspections and contractor queries during construction.
