Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead a range of structural projects in St Helens. You will drive design, client liaison and project delivery, while guiding a team of engineers and technicians within a growing North West office.

The role offers leadership development toward Associate/Director, flexible working options, and a collaborative culture. Experience in UK consultancy and Chartered status are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered (CEng) with IStructE or ICE.
• Extensive UK consultancy experience.
• Strong leadership & project management track record.
• Excellent communication with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of structures in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
• Oversee technical delivery and quality assurance.
• Manage project programmes, budgets and resources.
• Act as primary contact for key clients.
• Mentor and develop engineers and technicians.
• Support business development and tender submissions.
• Contribute to strategic growth of the office.
