Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join a Cardiff-based, employee-owned consultancy. You will take technical ownership, lead larger schemes, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across public and private sectors in the UK.

The role offers hybrid working with a typical minimum of 3 days per week in the Cardiff office. A pathway to ICE/IStructE Chartership is supported, with progression toward leadership/Director roles.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong Structural Engineering consultancy experience.
• Chartered status with IStructE or ICE would be advantageous.
• Experience with steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber.
• Experience leading projects from design through construction.
• Heritage/restoration project experience beneficial.
• Ability to work independently within a close-knit team.
• Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of a varied portfolio of Structural Engineering projects.
• Lead the structural design and delivery of larger and more technically complex schemes.
• Work on projects from smaller developments to 15m+ residential, education, healthcare and industrial schemes.
• Undertake structural analysis and design across materials.
• Produce and review calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.
• Coordinate designs with Architects and other design team members.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Attend design team meetings and provide technical advice.
• Undertake site inspections and surveys where required.
• Provide technical guidance to other team members.
• Review designs to maintain high technical standards.
• Contribute to restoration and heritage projects.
• Undertake temporary works design.
• Coordinate steelwork connection design.
• Support projects from concept through construction.
• Develop and maintain client relationships.
