Job summary

Stantec’s Regulatory Advice team seeks a Principal Consultant to lead high-impact regulatory engagements across water, energy, and infrastructure. You will provide strategic, economic and governance guidance on price controls, compliance obligations and incentives, shaping client outcomes.

You will mentor junior staff, drive proposals, and support business growth while collaborating with Senior Directors across the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior regulatory role within water/energy sectors.
• Experience with price review/revenue-setting processes (AMP cycles, etc.).
• Familiarity with assurance standards and internal controls (ISAE 3000, three lines of defence).
• Strong knowledge of regulation policy, strategy and economic considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of high-impact regulatory advisory engagements for clients in regulated sectors.
• Provide strategic, economic, and governance advice on regulatory frameworks and performance commitments.
• Mentor and develop less experienced team members while contributing to business growth through thought leadership and proposals.
• Support Client Service and Technical Directors in developing and delivering programmes and outputs.
