Job summary

Stantec’s Advisory Services Group is seeking a Senior Consultant in Regulatory Advice to deliver high-quality regulatory guidance across UK utilities and infrastructure sectors. You will lead workstreams or deliver small assignments, producing evidence-based analysis and concise recommendations for price controls, performance frameworks and assurance.

You will mentor juniors and collaborate with Principals and Directors to drive client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in a regulated sector or regulatory consulting environment (utilities preferred).
• Good understanding of regulatory frameworks, price controls, or performance and incentive regimes.
• Experience supporting price reviews or revenue-setting processes.
• Familiarity with assurance, audit, or governance concepts.
• Understanding of benchmarking, or performance measurement.
• Experience facilitating workshops or supporting senior stakeholder discussions.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work confidently with data and evidence.
• Excellent written communication skills, with experience producing regulator- or board-facing documents.
• Ability to manage tasks and priorities across multiple workstreams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead workstreams within larger engagements or deliver smaller assignments independently.
• Produce clear, evidence-based regulatory analysis and advice on regulatory requirements, price controls, performance frameworks, and assurance.
• Support the development of junior colleagues and mentoring where appropriate.
• Identify wider improvement opportunities for clients to reduce risk and improve effectiveness.
• Build internal and external relationships to guide and influence client’s strategic thinking.
