Principal Network Engineer

£85,000 plus annual bonus

Remote, UK

Are you a highly experienced Network Engineer with expertise in diverse infrastructure? We are seeking a Network Engineer to establish a Technical Ops first approach to cloud and on-premises setups.

The Network Engineer will be responsible for hosting environments, observability, high availability, and info-sec with Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This is a senior role requiring experience with multiple projects, including legacy infrastructure and migration to modern systems.

This role requires expertise in Palo Alto, Next Gen Firewalls, and Prisma.

The main focus will be on observability, high availability, info-sec, and IaC. You will support system and network infrastructure including switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls, compute, storage, and virtualization. Experience in mergers & acquisitions is a plus.

Technical Expertise – must haves

• Strong Palo Alto portfolio experience with Prisma
• Understanding of BGP with field experience in designing, deploying, and troubleshooting
• Enterprise-level system and network design experience
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Knowledge of IPSEC, DHCP, DNS
• Strong experience with Juniper switches & routers (Cisco considered)
• Experience with VXLAN and EVPN
• Load balancing experience (HAProxy preferred; F5, A10, Kemp acceptable)
