Principal Network Engineer

£85,000 plus annual bonus

Location: Remote, UK

We are seeking a highly experienced Network Engineer with expertise in diverse infrastructure to establish a Technical Ops first approach to cloud and on-premise environments.

The role involves managing hosting environments, observability, high availability, information security with Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The ideal candidate will have experience working on multiple projects, including legacy infrastructure and migration to modern systems.

Key technical skills required include proficiency in Palo Alto, Next Generation Firewalls, and Prisma. Responsibilities include supporting system and network infrastructure such as switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls, compute, storage, and virtualization. Experience in mergers & acquisitions is a plus.

Technical Expertise – must haves

• Strong experience with Palo Alto portfolio, including Prisma
• Understanding of BGP with practical experience in design, deployment, and troubleshooting
• Enterprise-level system and network design experience
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Knowledge of IPSEC, DHCP, DNS
• Experience with Juniper switches & routers (Cisco considered)
• Experience with VXLAN and EVPN
• Load balancing expertise (HAProxy preferred; F5, A10, Kemp acceptable)
