Job summary

WSP is recruiting a Principal/Associate Mechanical Engineer (MEP Rail) in the UK to lead teams delivering mechanical building services for railway stations and related buildings. You will oversee technical delivery, work-winning and client engagement across the UK and internationally.

You will collaborate with a large team of engineers, contribute to high-profile rail projects, and drive sustainable, low-carbon design while developing your career within a supportive global firm.

Qualifications

• Experience of mechanical building services design in the Rail environment, including heating, cooling, hot and cold water, and ventilation systems.
• Understanding of Network Rail and/or London Underground standards.
• Design of controls/BMS for mechanical systems.
• Design of above-ground plumbing and waste systems, rainwater disposal and drainage.

Responsibilities

• Producing and supervising high-quality, industry-leading building designs.
• Realising net-zero carbon commitments by delivering sustainable, low-carbon designs.
• Sharing knowledge and skills with colleagues globally.
• Working with initiative with specialist support to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
• Supervising detailed designs and guiding others in this function.
• Interpreting client specifications to develop designs.
• Designing pipework, heating/cooling/water systems and ventilation.
• Selecting plant and equipment (AHUs, fans, pumps, boilers, chillers, ductwork, piping).
• Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, Part L and other MEP standards.
