Principal Mechanical Engineer - Liverpool - to £75,000 + Package

About the Business

This is a multi-disciplinary building services consultancy specialising in thedetailed design and specification of building services systems, with a strong focus on lean, efficient and sustainable engineering solutions.

Their approach is refreshingly practical. They don't believe in over-engineering projects and instead look at each building individually, using a fabric-first approach and considering energy performance, build cost and long-term running costs from the outset.

The Mechanical team works across everything from heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems through to domestic and commercial water services, drainage, gas systems, plant rooms, boilers, heat pumps, chilled water systems, building management systems (BMS), lifts and other specialist mechanical installations.

The Role

As aPrincipal Mechanical Engineer, you'll take a leading role in the delivery of mechanical building services projects, working closely with clients, architects, contractors and the wider multidisciplinary team.

You'll have the freedom to take ownership of your projects and will be trusted to use your technical judgement.

You’ll lead mechanical design projects from concept to completion, producing calculations, specifications, drawings and reports, while working closely with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams. You’ll also manage projects and site activities, provide technical support, mentor junior engineers and help develop strong client relationships.
