Job summary

Bimplus is recruiting an experienced Senior/Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineer for a 12-month contract in Cardiff or Swansea. You will lead design and delivery of mechanical building services across diverse projects, mentoring junior engineers and engaging with clients and contractors to ensure quality, programme and budget targets are met.

• Degree in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Chartered Engineer status with CIBSE or IMechE, or working towards chartership
• Experience in a building services consultancy or contractor design environment
• Strong knowledge of UK mechanical building services design standards and best practice
• Experience using IES, Hevacomp, NBS and Revit
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
• Proactive leadership and mentoring capabilities

The Role

As a Senior / Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineer, you will take a leading role in the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects from concept through to completion.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients and contractors, you'll provide technical expertise, manage project delivery and mentor junior engineers while ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, programme and budget.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• A degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status with CIBSE or IMechE, or be actively working towards chartership.
• Previous experience within a building services consultancy or contractor design environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK mechanical building services design standards and best practice.
• Experience using software such as IES, Hevacomp, NBS and Revit.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
• A proactive approach with strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Desirable:

• CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant (LCC) accreditation.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets
