Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 3–4 years' post-qualification experience in building services design.
• Experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions in a consultancy.
• Knowledge of British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance.
• Experience with Revit, Relux/Dialux, Amtech or equivalent.
• Understanding of sustainable design and renewable technologies.
• Knowledge of BREEAM would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical building services design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical engineering design delivery on selected projects
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
• Manage mechanical design elements from concept through to completion
• Produce technical drawings, specifications and design documentation
• Carry out engineering calculations and support technical reviews
• Attend client meetings and contribute to presentations

A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing building services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to work on technically challenging projects across sectors including healthcare, education, residential, commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical and public sector developments.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions, supporting project delivery, mentoring junior engineers and developing strong client relationships within a collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical engineering design delivery on selected projects

• Experience using design software such as:
  • Revit
  • Relux / Dialux
  • Amtech or equivalent engineering software
• Understanding of sustainable design principles and renewable technologies
• Experience working with BREEAM requirements would be advantageous
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical building services design

Desirable

• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
• CIBSE / IMechE membership
• Experience working on complex projects across multiple sectors
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
• Understanding of electrical engineering principles would be beneficial
