Aldwych Consulting in Bristol is recruiting an experienced Principal/Associate Highway Engineer to lead planning-stage highway design projects and develop solutions in line with DMRB, Manual for Streets and local standards. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with planners, clients and authorities to support development proposals.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in highway design within a consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of highway design standards and legislation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience delivering planning-stage highway design, ideally in development/transport planning.
• Experience leading highway design projects and managing delivery.
• Knowledge of junction modelling and highway-related technical assessments.
• Understanding of highway agreements, planning obligations and approvals.

Responsabilités

• Lead the delivery of planning-stage highway design projects, primarily supporting development proposals.
• Develop and review highway design solutions in accordance with standards and local authority guidance.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on highway design projects.
• Undertake junction modelling, forecasting and technical assessments.
• Prepare inputs for Transport Assessments and technical reports.
• Build and maintain client relationships and support business development.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
