Aldwych Consulting in Bristol is seeking a Principal / Associate Highway Engineer to join a busy central Bristol office. You will lead planning-stage highway design for development projects, provide technical input, and collaborate with transport planners, clients and local authorities.

The role offers a clear career path, mentoring of junior engineers, and the chance to work with colleagues across the UK. A strong background in highway design, DMRB standards, and AutoCAD/Civil 3D is essential,

Qualifications

• Significant experience in highway design within a consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of highway design standards and relevant legislation.
• Experience delivering planning-stage highway design for development projects.
• Experience leading highway design projects and managing project delivery.

Responsabilités

• Lead planning-stage highway design projects for development proposals.
• Develop and review highway design solutions in accordance with DMRB, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20 and local authority standards.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on highway design projects.
• Undertake and review junction modelling, forecasting and technical assessments.
• Prepare and review highway design inputs for Transport Assessments and technical reports.
• Work closely with transport planners, clients, local authorities and other stakeholders.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and commercial performance.
• Build and maintain client relationships to support repeat business.
• Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and technicians.
