Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in London is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to lead and support highway and streetscape design across urban environments. You will work on active travel, public realm and transport projects, delivering detailed designs from feasibility through to implementation.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in highways/transport design, strong AutoCAD skills, and a good grasp of DMRB, TfL street guidance and CDM 2015 requirements. A proactive, client-facing approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with 3+ years in highways/transport infrastructure design.
• Experience developing highway designs in line with DMRB, TfL streetscape guidance, LT N 1/20.
• Strong AutoCAD skills with ability to produce high-quality drawings and design packages.
• Experience managing Statutory Undertaker diversion processes from searches through to implementation.
• Solid understanding of CDM 2015 for Designers/Principal Designers.
• Strong communication with clients, colleagues, contractors and stakeholders.
• Proactive mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced London environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support development of highway and streetscape designs in urban environments.
• Deliver schemes across active travel, public realm, traffic and transportation projects.
• Produce detailed design packages using AutoCAD.
• Work on projects from feasibility to implementation.
• Apply DMRB, TfL streetscape guidance, LT N 1/20, LCDS and TSRGD as applicable.
• Manage Statutory Undertaker diversion processes from searches to implementation.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors and sub-consultants.
