Job summary

Broadridge is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead and own the technical direction for a new SaaS platform. You will set architecture, standards and roadmaps, ensuring the system remains scalable, secure and maintainable.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on software engineering experience with C# and .NET.
• Experience owning or shaping the technical direction and architecture of complex production software platforms.
• Strong experience designing APIs, distributed systems, event-driven architectures and service-based apps.
• Judgement on service boundaries, asynchronous integration, event flows and data ownership.
• Relational database experience, ideally PostgreSQL.
• Experience defining technical roadmaps, engineering standards and target architectures.
• Understanding of software design, testing, security, observability and reliability.
• Experience with CI/CD, deployment pipelines; Jenkins preferred.
• Ability to communicate technical trade-offs to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience improving engineering practices and delivery effectiveness.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the technical strategy, target architecture and engineering roadmap for the SaaS platform.
• Provide clear technical direction across architecture, engineering standards and platform design.
• Define service boundaries, APIs, event flows and frontend integration approaches.
• Lead technical decisions and design reviews balancing speed, security and reliability.
• Collaborate with the Software Architect to align major platform decisions with wider principles.
• Turn technical direction into practical delivery plans with the team.
• Contribute hands-on through prototypes and critical-path work.
• Improve platform reliability, security, observability and cloud maturity in AWS.
• Strengthen engineering practices, CI/CD and deployment quality.
• Address technical risks and architectural debt early.
• Shape AI-assisted development and AI-enabled SDLC workflows.
• Mentor engineers and raise architectural judgement.
