Job summary

IRIS Software Group is seeking a Principal Engineer to accelerate AI‑driven, agentic software development across its engineering organisation. You will embed directly with product teams, enabling tooling adoption and shaping best practices across divisions.

You will work with senior leaders across Engineering, Agility and AI transformation to bridge learning and execution, creating reusable patterns and a measurable uplift in engineering productivity.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands‑on experience with agentic development tooling.
• Strong software engineering background across at least one primary language and stack.
• Experience working across multiple teams or contexts simultaneously, or moving between assignments in a consultative capacity.

Responsibilities

• Embed with pod teams across divisions, enabling adoption of agentic tooling and workflows.
• Diagnose and debug blockers encountered with agentic adoption—tooling, context engineering, workflows, or codebase challenges.
• Build and maintain a living library of best practices and reusable patterns to share across the estate.
• Partner with the Director of Enterprise Agility and the Agile Coach team to ensure tech and human change elements of adoption are joined up.
• Support the configuration and integration of agentic tooling within divisional environments, enabling self‑serve adoption.
• Evaluate agentic tooling options (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) against real adoption data.
• Share a library of common agentic skills and workflows so teams can reuse proven approaches.
