Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer for Building Services in Birmingham. The role focuses on leading electrical design for diverse UK projects and coordinating with clients, contractors and the design team to ensure delivery that meets technical and commercial expectations.

You will oversee detailed designs, feasibility studies and mentoring, with hybrid working in the Birmingham office. Applicants should have a proven track record on UK Building Services projects and be able to

Qualifications

• Experience delivering UK Building Services projects across healthcare, commercial, residential sectors.
• Ability to engage with clients, contractors and design teams in technical discussions and coordination.
• Strong understanding of electrical design regulations and ability to demonstrate via calculations.
• Experience with Revit MEP or other 3D design software to allocate/direction of work.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for and direct others in the production of detailed and performance specifications.
• Review design programmes and ensure resource availability to meet technical and commercial goals.
• Work with initiative with minimal supervision on technical aspects or specialist experience.
• Supervise completion of detailed designs and the work of others in this function.
• Lead overall feasibility studies for projects specific to the discipline.
• Provide training and mentoring of staff.
