DESCRIPTION

As a Senior Delivery Practice Manager at AWS, you will be responsible for building and leading a team of Professional Services Engagement Managers working with customers and partners to architect and implement innovative solutions. You will engage with senior executives, including Directors, VPs, and C-level leaders, to drive IT transformations. Your role includes developing strategic plans for AWS products, driving opportunity capture, and ensuring successful engagement delivery. You will collaborate closely with partner teams to promote AWS adoption and build strong customer and partner relationships within the UK Public Sector.

You will build high-performing teams of consultants, fostering career development and AWS capabilities. If you enjoy working directly with customers and leading teams to solve business problems through technology, this role is for you. Experience in delivering IT solutions in an agile environment and managing all project phases is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Applying strategic thinking to align teams around customer outcomes.
  2. Improving process efficiencies.
  3. Collaborating with sales, pre-sales, training, and support teams.
  4. Serving as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
  5. Leading large, complex initiatives and customer engagements.
  6. Applying scaled agile and project management best practices.
  7. Managing technical engagements, customer expectations, scope, and budgets.
  8. Planning and organizing all project phases for successful delivery.
  9. Mentoring junior managers and developing future leaders.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing or delivering professional services in IT.
  • Knowledge of cloud provider models and best practices.
  • Experience leading teams through growth and delivery.
  • Managing a consulting practice or P&L experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of data center and cloud adoption strategies.
  • Strategic thinking about business and technical challenges.
  • Strong customer relationship skills, especially in public sector.
  • Experience with AWS services in distributed environments.
